Dr. Michael, as a teenager and young adult, served in the U.S. Army as an elite paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During his 15 years of military service he participated in two major land wars and multiple military operations, including Operation Joint Forge (Bosnia), Uphold Democracy (Haiti), and Restore Hope (Somalia). After discharging from the Army, he mastered civil law and earned a coveted Doctoral degree in Civil and Canon law at Saint Sebastian University. In the years that followed, he studied EBAE and UEB braille through the Library of Congress - specializing in both Literary and NEMETH braille codes. Today, he transcribers story books into braille for visually impaired children, while residing in a quiet little house in Michigan City, Indiana with his two precocious cats, Skyler Blu and Jacob Anthony. In addition, he enjoys shopping at Goodwill, resisting government overreach, volunteering in his local community, helping the ostracized and disenfranchised, and elevating kindness and civility (fundamental practices commanded in every great religion). His personal motto: "Non Crudelis," Don't Be Cruel.
